The Problem
The chimney had both a cracked crown and a missing cap, leaving the flue completely exposed to rain and animals.
Diagnosis
The crown had cracked from weather exposure and the original cap had blown off. Both needed replacement to protect the flue.
Solution
We poured a new cast-in-place crown and installed a heavy-duty stainless steel cap with a spark arrestor and animal screen.
