Service Questions
Common questions about our chimney and fireplace services.
How often should a chimney be cleaned?
It depends on how frequently you use your fireplace and what you burn. Many chimney professionals recommend an annual inspection. If you burn wood regularly, annual cleaning is common. If you rarely use the fireplace, an inspection can determine whether cleaning is needed yet.
Can you repair a cracked firebox?
Yes. We handle everything from minor firebrick and mortar repairs to complete firebox replacement. The right approach depends on the severity and pattern of cracking, which we evaluate during an inspection.
Do you repair leaking chimneys?
Yes. Chimney leaks can originate from the cap, crown, flashing, masonry, or a combination of sources. We identify the actual leak source before recommending a repair.
Do you replace chimney liners?
Yes. We evaluate the existing flue condition and recommend the right liner solution for your chimney and appliance. Options include stainless steel and cast-in-place liners.
Do you work on major repairs and rebuilds?
Yes. We handle everything from tuckpointing and masonry restoration to complete chimney rebuilds. With 20+ years of experience, we have completed projects ranging from simple repairs to major structural reconstruction.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Southern Oregon including Medford, Central Point, Jacksonville, Ashland, Grants Pass, Phoenix, Talent, Eagle Point, and White City.
Do I need to know what service I need?
No. If you know something is wrong but aren't sure what, start with a $99 inspection. We diagnose the problem, show you what we find, and explain your options. You don't need to be a chimney expert before contacting us.
Can I send photos of the problem?
Yes. Photos aren't required, but they can help us understand the situation before we contact you. You can attach photos when requesting service through our website.
What if my chimney is difficult to access?
Unusual access situations such as steep roofs, very tall chimneys, or restricted work areas may affect scheduling or pricing. We discuss any access concerns before the appointment.
Are you open on weekends, and do you offer same-day service?
Open 7 days a week. Same-day service in most cases, depending on the job and the schedule that day. Call (541) 727-8878 or send photos and we will tell you what we can do.
Do chimney caps come with a warranty?
Chimney caps are installed in copper or stainless steel only and carry a lifetime warranty. We use copper or stainless steel because they hold up in Southern Oregon weather. Ask us for the written terms when you request a quote.
Can you remove animals, birds or bees from a chimney?
Yes. We remove the animal, bird or nest, clean out the chimney, and install a cap so it does not happen again. For bees we assess the hive first, because old comb can stay in a chimney chase long after the bees are gone.
